19th Annual Chargers Club Tennis Classic Results

NEW LONDON, N.H. – July 23, 2012 - The Colby-Sawyer College Chargers Club, which is the school's athletics booster club, held its 19th Annual Tennis Classic July 20-22, 2012 at the Patricia D. Kelsey Tennis Courts overlooking beautiful Mt. Kearsarge.

The tournament featured 80 players in a series of doubles events, which included A and B level tennis brackets that ensured players of similar abilities would be pitted against each other. Participants in this year's tournament came from Bermuda, Texas, Florida, North Carolina and of course players from all over New England.

Senior Men's A Finals: Bob Wilkie (Sunapee, N.H.) and George Wachtel (Naples, Fla.) defeated B. Manning (New London, N.H.) and Nick Ourosoff (New London, N.H.) - 7-5, 6-2.

Senior Women's A Finals: Lynn Miller (Franklin, Mass.) and Carolyn Fournier (East Falmouth, Mass.) defeated Denise Olson (New London, N.H.) and Judy Fledderjohn (Sherborn, Mass.) - 6-4, 6-3.

 Women's A Finals: Jen LaChance (New London, N.H.) and Hannah White (Stockbridge, Mass.) prevailed over Mary Dorman (White River Junction, Vt.) and Laura Joslin-King (Bradford, N.H.) - 6-1, 7-5.

Men's A Finals:
Skyler Sigva (North Sutton, N.H.) and Andrew Zurheide (New London, N.H.) defeated Dave Page (Concord, N.H.) and Dana LaVoie (Dunbarton, N.H.) - 6-2, 7-5.

Mixed A Finals: Ben Taylor (Wilmot, N.H.) and Jen LaChance (New London, N.H.) defeated Laura Joslin-King and Richard King (both from Bradford, N.H.) -    6-2, 6-7, tiebreak third set 10-7.

 Senior Men's B Finals: Dick McDonough (New London, N.H.) and Allan Clauss (Newbury, N.H.) defeated Skip Hause and Mike Blais (both from Sunapee, N.H.) - 7-5, 6-1.

Men's B Finals: David Miles (Woodstock, Vt.) and James Masters (South Woodstock, Vt.) defeated Paul Noiseaux (South Pomfret, Vt.) and Lance Webster (Barnard, Vt.) 7-6, 6-1.

Women's B Finals: Dot Diehl (Alexandria, N.H.) and Kara Berger (New London, N.H.) defeated Rhonda Green (Boston, Mass.) and Janet Diesel (Braintree, Mass.) - 6-3. 6-3.

 Mixed B Finals: Paul Snow (New London, N.H.) and Tatiana Sink (Quincy, Mass.) defeated Beth Ann Paul (Henniker, N.H.) and Steve Norris (New London, N.H.) - 6-3, 6-3.

Century Mixed Finals: Dana Lavoie (Dunbarton, N.H.) and Gail Costello (North Conway, N.H.) defeated Kathy Joslin (Loudon, N.H.) and Whitey Joslin (New London, N.H.) - 6-4, 6-2. Century mixed is the result of the players' ages equaling at least 100.
