Alpine Ski Racing Joins EISA

NEW LONDON, N.H. – June 1, 2011 – The Colby-Sawyer men's and women's alpine ski racing programs are leaving the Eastern Collegiate Ski Conference (ECSC), which was part of the United States Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association (USCSA), to join the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) in the 2011-12 season as part of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA).

The EISA is comprised of Bates, Bowdoin, Colby, Dartmouth, Harvard, Middlebury, St. Lawrence, St. Michael's, Maine-Presque Isle, New Hampshire, Vermont and Williams. The EISA annually hosts six Winter Carnival competitions starting in mid January.

Prior to making the transition to the ECSC in 1998, Colby-Sawyer was a member of the EISA throughout the 90's. Since joining the ECSC, the Chargers have qualified to compete at the USCSA National Championship every season. The men's team won the USCSA National Championship in 2009, while the women placed second in 2005 and 2008.
