COMPLETE RESULTS
WENHAM, Mass. – April 25, 2010 – The Colby-Sawyer women's track & field team placed third out of six schools in the 2010 The Commonwealth Coast Conference Invitational hosted by Gordon. The Chargers scored 122 points, which was just one point behind second place Gordon.
Freshman Danielle Perry (Charlestown, N.H.) opened the meet with a third place finish in the 100 meter dash in a time of 13.34. Perry also finished fifth in the 200 meter dash at 28.71, third in the 100 meter hurdles at 17.56 and third in the long jump with a distance of 4.67m.
Junior
Amber Cronin (Buxton, Maine) placed fourth in the 400 meter dash in a time of 1:05.08. She also placed second in the high jump (1.40m).
Senior
Caitlin Pond (Westborough, Mass.) won the pole vault (2.21m) and placed third in the high jump (1.35m).
Sophomore
Kristin Sawyer (Walpole, Mass.) broke the school record in the hammer that she set two weeks ago. She had a distance of 36.09m en route to the victory in the event.
Freshman
Melody Owens (Tyler, Texas) won the shot put with a distance of 10.98m. Sawyer finished right behind her with a distance of 10.33m.
The 4x100 meter relay team comprised of Cronin, Pond, Perry and freshman
Ryan Prothro (East Sandwich, Mass.) finished second behind Roger Williams in a time of 53.61.
Members of the team will compete this weekend at the New England Championships hosted by Tufts.
