MEET RESULTS
WESTFIELD, Mass. - March 28, 2010 - The Colby-Sawyer women's track & field team competed at the Jerry Gravel Classic hosted by Westfield State on Saturday.
In the first event on Saturday,
Melody Owens had a distance of 10.05m in the shot put for an 11th place finish. Teammates
Kristin Sawyer (9.89m) and
Caitlin Pond (9.54m) finished close behind in 15th and 16th, respectively.
Kellie Valentine placed 10th in the hammer throw with a distance of 31.37m. Sawyer had a throw of 27.54m good for 16th place.
Pond had a good showing in the javelin with a 9th place finish after a throw of 29.30m.
Danielle Perry finished 7th in the 100m hurdles in a time of 17.62.
The team will compete next weekend at the Mount Holyoke Invitational.
