Brett Sayer

Brett Sayer has been the Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball Head Coach since 2009. Sayer, a native of Litchfield, N.H., has been named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Coach of the Year four times and has led the Chargers to five straight NAC Championships and five consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament. 

Sayer, who has amassed a 150-124 record over eight years, currently ranks third all-time in career wins at Colby-Sawyer College. He is involved in New England Division III volleyball as the chair of the NEWVA Poll, the NAC representative for the AVCA All-Region Awards and a member of the ECAC Tournament selection committee.


Prior to Colby-Sawyer, Coach Sayer was at Saint Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, IN, where he served as the assistant coach from 2005 through 2008. While at Saint Joseph’s, Sayer helped guide the program to becoming one of the top defensive teams in NCAA D-II, finishing with national defensive rankings of 9th and 11th in ‘07 and ‘08.

While in Indiana, Sayer guided the Dunes Volleyball Club 17 Elite team to the 2007 Asics National Championship (17 Open), the 2007 Junior Olympic National Championship (17 American) and a 2nd place finish at the 2007 Hoosier Regional.

Prior to Saint Joseph’s College, Sayer spent a season at Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA as a second assistant coach. While at Westminster, Sayer helped guide the team to a second place finish in the President’s Athletic Conference.

Sayer began his coaching career as a student assistant at the University of New Hampshire during the 2003 America East Championship season. While at UNH, Sayer was a four year member, three as captain, of the men’s volleyball club team. Sayer also was an assistant coach for Seacoast Volleyball Club, where he helped guide the U-16 team to a number one ranking in New England as well as capturing three tournament championships.

Sayer resides in Boscawen, N.H. with his wife Sarah '04 and their twin daughters Zoey and Livia.
