Biography

AT COLBY-SAWYER
2023-24: Thoms had a big year for the Chargers in 2023-24 going 9-8 in singles action and 9-11 in doubles action in her senior year. Mary went a perfect 4-0 in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) singles action and 3-1 in GNAC doubles action. Thoms was later named the GNAC Tournament MVP after winning a point in every match in the GNAC Tournament. Mary was also awarded the Chargie for the Wynne Jesser McGrew Female Senior Scholar Athlete of the Year and was named a College Sports Communicator (CSC) Academic All-District member. 

2022-23: Thoms made nine singles appearances and three doubles matches for the Chargers in 2022-23. Mary went 4-5 in singles action and 0-3 in doubles. Thoms picked up her biggest victory of the season on May 5th in the NCAA Division III Tournament winning #5 singles by a 6-3, 6-0 final. 

2021-22: Thoms played in one doubles match for the Chargers in 2021-22. Mary finished 1-0 with a 8-1 doubles victory with Margaret Fox by a 8-1 in number three doubles.

2020-21: The team did not compete due to COVID-19. 

PRIOR TO COLBY-SAWYER: Graduate of Coe-Brown Northwood Academy, where Thoms was a tri-sport athlete competing in tennis, basketball and soccer. Thoms is also a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish National Honor Society. Thoms was also a member of the student-athlete leadership team, class of 2020 treasurer, Hugh O'Brian youth leadership alumni, writing center consultant, Coe-Brown peer helper and a New Hampshire Scholar Three-Sport Athlete.
