Emily Dewdney is the head coach of the Colby-Sawyer field hockey and women's lacrosse programs.

A 2010 graduate of Allegheny College with a Bachelor's in Women's Studies, Dewdney played four years for the women's lacrosse team, which was regionally ranked. She earned NCAC First-Team accolades as one of the league's top defenders.

The New London, N.H. native is a graduate of nearby Kimball Union Academy.

Dewdney, who is a Certified Personal Trainer, lives in Sunapee with her husband and two Australian Shepherds.

Prior to her first full-time head coaching gig with the women's lacrosse team in 2020, Dewdney spent 2018 at the helm after Emily Rinde-Thorsen went on a one-year sabbatical. She served as an assistant coach for eight years with the program.

Dewdney led the Chargers to a 10-6 overall record and a 5-2 mark in the conference to earn the NAC Tournament's second seed in 2018. The Chargers appeared in the conference championship for just the third time in program history. Dewdney was named NAC Coach of the Year after guiding the team to a very successful 2018 campaign. She coached the NAC Player of the Year (Nicole Lavigne), the NAC Rookie of the Year (Briana Couture) and the NAC Defensive Player of the Year (Kailyn Lapham).

Under her direction, five Chargers have been named first-team all-conference, one second-team all-conference and 13 Chargers have earned all-conference academic honors. Kailyn Lapham was named the 2020 Colby-Sawyer Outstanding Senior Female Athlete.
