2026: Chaves enjoyed a breakout season for the Chargers in 2026, earning GNAC Third Team All-Conference honors while transitioning to primarily playing in the outfield. Jesse started 31 games and produced a team-impacting .388 batting average with 40 hits, 23 runs scored, 25 RBIs, 13 doubles and seven stolen bases. His .388 average ranked seventh in the GNAC, while his 13 doubles ranked ninth in the conference. Chaves recorded multiple hits in 11 games, highlighted by a career-high four-hit performance against Albertus Magnus on April 11th, when he went 4-for-5 with four RBIs, two runs scored and two stolen bases. He added three hits, two doubles and two RBIs against WestConn on March 16th and went 3-for-4 with four RBIs against Plymouth State on April 16th. Chaves continued his strong stretch against Elms on April 22nd, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI.
2025: Chaves appeared in 10 games for the Chargers in 2025, making six starts behind the plate. Jesse finished the season with two hits, four runs scored, two RBIs and a stolen base while drawing four walks. Chaves recorded his first hit of the season on March 31st at Salem State, going 1-for-3 with an RBI, two runs scored and a walk. He added another hit and RBI against New England College on April 9th in a Charger victory. Behind the plate, Chaves recorded 39 putouts and seven assists while posting a .958 fielding percentage. He also threw out a runner attempting to steal and recorded a season-high 13 putouts against Keene State on March 11th.
2024: Chaves played in eight games for the Chargers in 2024 making four starts as a catcher. Jesse ended the year 4-for-12 with five runs, three stolen bases, two RBIs, a double and a triple. Behind the plate Chaves ended the year with 23 putouts, an assist and one error. Jesse's best game came on April 21st against Albertus Magnus going 2-for-3 with a run scored and a pair of stolen bags. Chaves added a career-high three runs scored on April 29th going 1-for-3 with an RBI triple and two walks.Â
