Biography

AT COLBY-SAWYER
2022:
Silva finished off her career at Colby-Sawyer with another impressive season starting all 19 games for the Chargers, registering four goals and two defensive saves. Bella picked up her first goal on the season on September 11th against the University of Maine - Farmington in a 8-0 Charger win. Silva added a clutch goal on October 8th at Simmons University as the Chargers defeated the Sharks by a 4-3 final. In the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinal Silva had another big game picking up two defensive saves as the Chargers fell to the GNAC Champions Johnson & Wales University by a 1-0 final. Bella was later named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team. Silva ends her career at Colby-Sawyer ranked third in program history in defensive saves (5). Silva was also named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) 2022 Division III National Academic Squad scoring above a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average throughout the first semester of the 2022 academic year.


2021: Silva continued to be an important piece for the Chargers in her junior season scoring six goals and adding a pair of assists. Bella came through when the team needed it most on October 27, 2021 at Lasell University, scoring the overtime game-winner to secure the GNAC regular season title for the Chargers in a 3-2 win. Silva added another game-winner earlier in the year versus Regis College in a 5-0 win and added a three-point performance with a goal and an assist at Dean College in a 7-0 win. Silva was also recognized as a member of the GNAC  All-Conference Third Team honors, while also making the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) 2021 Division III National Academic Squad scoring above a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average throughout the first semester of the 2021 academic year.

2020: The team did not compete due to COVID-19. Silva was also recognized as a member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) 2020 Division III National Academic Squad scoring above a 3.3 or higher cumulative grade point average throughout the first semester of the 2020 academic year.

2019: Silva, who was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad and a Scholar of Distinction, had a spectacular first season as a Charger. She was fourth on the team with eight points, tied for the team lead with four assists and was second with a pair of defensive saves. She ranked seventh among GNAC players with the two defensive saves. Silva played and started in all 17 of the Chargers' games and logged the fourth most minutes on the team. She recorded her first point in the season opener with an assist against Elms. Silva then posted her first collegiate goal on September 14, 2021 in a win at Rivier. One of her defensive saves helped preserve a 1-0 shutout win over GNAC foe Anna Maria on October 26, 2021. 

PRIOR TO COLBY-SAWYER: Graduate of Danvers High School and was a dual sport athlete participating in field hockey and women's track & field. On the field hockey field Silva was a team captain, hustle award winner, Salem News All-Star and a NEC All-Conference member.
