Biography

As a senior: Woodside finished her illustrious career by being named NAC Player of the Year for the second year in a row. She also was named to the All-NAC Singles First Team, All-NAC Doubles First Team and NAC All-Tournament Team. She was a three-time NAC Player of the Week. She completed her fourth-straight perfect conference slate with a mark of 6-0. Woodside concludes conference play with a 20-0 career record. On the doubles side, Woodside went 5-0 in conference matches. She and partner Yashu Yang picked up signature wins against Division I Holy Cross and Nichols to reach the finals of the Grass Court Doubles Tournament. Woodside went 17-6 in singles and 22-5 in doubles to set single-season records in doubles wins and total wins. Two of her wins came in the NCAA First Round, leading the Chargers to the Second Round for an unprecedented third year in a row. In the spring, Woodside and Yang were tabbed the No. 15th ranked doubles team in the Northeast Region according to the ITA. She also finished her career as the all-time leader in singles victories (58), tied for first in total wins (128) and second in doubles wins (70). Woodside earned the 2017-18 Charger Award for Outstanding Female Athlete of the Year. 

As a junior: Woodside was named NEAC East Player of the Year. She also earned All-NEAC First Team for singles and doubles, NEAC Tournament MVP and was named NEAC Player of the Week three times. The co-captain helped lead the Chargers to their fifth-straight perfect conference season and championship crown. Woodside joined Ashlyn Ramsay '16 as the only two Chargers to win both the Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards. Woodside completed her third straight perfect conference slate with a mark of 5-0 to improve to 14-0 in conference singles matches after three seasons. She also moved to 17-0 in conference doubles matches. Woodside teamed with Maddy Gemerek to win 8-0 at No. 1 doubles and then recorded a victory at the top singles flight (6-1, 6-0) to secure an NCAA First Round victory over Bridgewater State and advance for the second straight year. Woodside moved into 6th in career wins (89) and 6th in career doubles wins (48). 

As a sophomore: Woodside was named First Team Singles All-Conference and First Team Doubles All-Conference. Woodside went 14-6 in singles including a 5-0 mark in conference action. She teamed with Ashlyn Ramsay and compiled an 18-7 doubles record with an unblemished conference mark of 5-0. The duo teamed for the second straight season at the Salve Regina Grass Court Doubles tournament and took top honors in Flight A for the second straight time defeating a team from Holy Cross. Woodside, who was a co-captain, was named to the NEAC East Division All-Tournament Team after going 4-0 in helping the Chargers to a fourth straight title. The sophomore also was responsible for two points in the program's first ever NCAA Tournament victory. 

As a freshman: Woodside had an impressive first season as a Charger. She was tabbed NEAC East Division Rookie of the Year, in addition to, being named All-NEAC Singles First Team and All-NEAC Doubles First Team. Woodside went an impressive 14-4 overall and 4-0 in conference action during her first year of collegiate singles action. The rookie recorded a 2-1 record at No. 1 singles and went 12-3 in the No. 2 position, while also earning a 13-8 overall record in doubles (12-7 at No. 1, 1-1 at No. 2). When paired up with the 2014 Player of the Year, Ramsay, the duo went 10-6 (4-0 NEAC East) at No. 1 doubles. Woodside was selected NEAC East Rookie of the Week twice during the season.

At Hampden: Ashley played tennis, cross country and track for the Broncos. She was the 1st singles and varsity letter winner for all four years, KVAC First Team for four years, team captain for two years and second in Eastern Maine.  Ashley was a member of National Honor Society and earned the 12 Star Award for competing for 12 semesters in varsity sports.
