As a senior: McCarthy finished her career ranked 10th in career assists with 258. She was second on the team this season with 62 assists, including a career-high 10 in a win over St. Joseph (Conn.) on January 3. 

As a junior: McCarthy started in 20 of her 25 appearances in her third season. She was fourth on the team with 7.4 points per game. McCarthy led the team with 76 assists and was third in steals with 37. She recorded six assists three times during the season and scored double digit points nine times. 

As a sophomore: Katie earned the starting spot as point guard in 2013-14. She led the team with 99 assists and averaged the second most minutes on the team with 30.1. McCarthy also was second in steals with 35 and fifth in scoring with 6.9 points per contest. She recorded career-highs of 18 points against Johnson on December 12 and nine assists at New England College on January 25.

As a freshman: Katie played in 23 games as the Chargers' backup point guard in her first season. She collected 21 assists and averaged 6.7 minutes per game. 

At Mansfield: Katie earned three letters in basketball and three in soccer for the Hornets. She was named Sun Chronicle Basketball All-Star and was a member of the South Sectional and Hockmock League championship teams. Katie went to the Sun Chronicle Soccer All-Star game and earned the Unsung Hero award. 

Personal: Daughter of Ken and Cheryl. Has sisters named Stephanie and Jennifer. Katie is an Exercise Science major.
