Springfield, MA – The Chargers traveled to Massachusetts on Saturday to play against the Golden Bears of Western New England University. The Chargers won 6-1, earning their third CNE win of the season. 

Rapid Recap: 

• Jacob Riis (Vineyard Haven, MA) and Max Biedermann (Stowe, VT) won at #3 doubles 6-3 for the Chargers. At #1 doubles, the Colby-Sawyer pair of Ashton Meuse (Newport, NH) and Oliver Gore (Southend by the Sea, United Kingdom) won 6-4. Peyton Meuse (Newport, NH) and Zsombor Homonnay (Budapest, Hungary) won 6-4 at #2 doubles to help the Chargers win the doubles point. 

• Sophomore Oliver Van Hattum (Bunnik, Netherlands) got things started for the Chargers in singles action with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the #6 spot. 

• Riis won 6-0, 6-2 at #4 singles. 

• Peyton Meuse and Max Biedermann both won their matches at #3 and #5 singles respectively. 

• After a three-set match, Ashton Meuse won at #1 singles (6-2, 1-6, 6-2). 

• The Chargers won the match 6-1.

On Monday, the Chargers will take on the University of New England at Kelsey Courts for CNE conference play.
