SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH EMMANUEL ON SENIOR DAY

Andover, NH – The Chargers split their doubleheader with Emmanuel on Saturday. 

Game 1 Rapid Recap: 

  • Mallory Blackwell (Fleming Island, FL) was the starting pitcher for the Chargers, and Jessica Voutour was the starting pitcher for the Saints. 

  • Olivia DeMacedo hit a 2 RBI single for the Saints in the 2nd inning. DeMacedo homered in the 4th inning to give the Saints a 3-0 lead.  

  • In the bottom of the 4th inning, Larissa Daigle (Fort Kent, ME) hit a two-run home run to cut the deficit to one run.  

  • In the bottom of the 5th, Kaylee Scott (Virginia Beach, VA) hit a three-run home run to give the Chargers their first lead of the game. 

  • Blackwell hit an RBI single in the 6th for the Chargers. Lyndsey Valletta (Macedon, NY) and Kyla Angell (North Providence, RI) both earned RBIs in the inning. 

  • Grace Garon hit an RBI fly out for the Saints in the 7th inning. 

  • The Chargers won the game 8-5. 

Game 1 Inside the Numbers: 

  • Blackwell pitched the complete game and threw a season-high seven strikeouts for the Chargers. 

  • Blackwell was 2-3 from the plate. Scott was 3-4 from the plate, with one of the hits being a home run. Daigle hit a home run on the day as well. 

  • Mekayla Poisson was 3-4 from the plate for the Saints. 

  • The Chargers combined for seven hits. 

Game 2 Rapid Recap: 

  • Emma Baker (Seekonk, MA) was the starting pitcher for the Chargers, and Voutour was the starting pitcher for the Saints. 

  • Rodriguez and Rylee Smith both earned RBIs for the Saints in the top of the 1st. 

  • Alexis Martineau scored for Emmanuel in the 2nd inning. Garon hit an RBI single, and Rodriguez hit a 3 RBI double for the Saints. 

  • The Saints added one run in the 3rd inning, and four runs in the 4th inning. 

  • Daigle hit a two-run home run in the 4th inning for the Chargers. Scott hit a Charger home run in the bottom of the 5th inning. 

  • The Saints won the game 12-3. 

Game 2 Inside the Numbers: 

  • Baker and Lena Rodrigues (Belmont, NH) both pitched for the Chargers. 

  • Daigle and Scott each hit a home run. Both of them hit a home run in game 1 as well. Rodrigues was 2-2 from the plate. 

  • Mia Fernandes was 4-4 from the plate for the Saints. 

  • The Chargers combined for seven hits.
