Franklin, MA – The Chargers won their first game in program history on Wednesday. This was also the first win for Head Coach Kay'lee Justice as Head Coach of the Colby-Sawyer softball program. 

Rapid Recap: 

• Mallory Blackwell (Fleming Island, FL) was the starting pitcher for the Chargers, and Bryce DeGasparre was the starting pitcher for the Bulldogs. 

• In the top of the 2nd inning, Lena Rodrigues (Belmont, NH) hit an RBI single to score Lyndsey Valletta (Macedon, NY) to put the Chargers up by one. With runners on first and third, Mikayla Creighton (Pepperell, MA) hit an RBI single for the Chargers. Larissa Daigle (Fort Kent, ME) scored the third Charger run of the inning. Creighton scored in the inning to give the Chargers a 4-0 lead entering the bottom of the 2nd inning. 

• Blackwell threw three strikeouts from the 2nd inning through the 4th inning for the Chargers. 

• Emily Kilpatrick hit an RBI sac fly for Dean in the 5th inning. The Chargers won the game 4-1. 

Inside the Numbers: 

• Blackwell pitched 5.0 innings, threw four strikeouts, and earned the win. 

• Emma Baker (Seekonk, MA) had two hits in the game. Valletta, Rodrigues, Daigle, and Creighton all had one hit on the day. 

• Ashlee Mastrodomenico was 1-2 from the plate for Dean. 

• This was the first win for the Colby-Sawyer softball team in their first season as a program. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers will play a doubleheader against Rivier on Saturday.
