New London, NH – The Chargers improved to 8-0 on the season with a 19-0 win over Dean on Saturday at Sally Shaw Veitch Field. Lauren Vignola (Ringwood, NJ), Madeline Knight (Pownal, ME), and Grace Joly (Windham, ME) all scored 5+ goals in the conference win.

Joly scored for Colby-Sawyer with 8:36 to go in the first quarter. Less than a minute later, Knight scored to put the Chargers up 2-0. Knight scored again, this time from a Joly assist. With just over five minutes left in the quarter, Vignola added a Charger goal. The captain connection was alive, when Sophie Pedro (Scituate, RI) assisted Anika Jenkins (Tyngsboro, MA) for the fifth goal of the game for the Chargers. Joly, Knight (assisted by Pedro), and Vignola (assisted by Joly) each scored another goal before the end of the quarter.

Within the first two minutes of the second quarter, Cecilia Ponzini (Windham, NH) assisted a Joly goal. Vignola, Joly, and Ponzini each scored before five minutes were left in the quarter. Knight assisted Vignola for a Charger goal. With 50 seconds left in the half, Pedro assisted Joly. The Chargers led 14-0 at halftime.

Knight scored a career-high five goals, recorded a career-high six points, and recorded a career-high three caused turnovers on Saturday. Pedro recorded a career-high three assists. Vignola scored six and Joly scored five.

Gracie Pizon (Stratham, NH) recorded a career-high four caused turnovers. Ashley Pelletier (Bridgton, ME) recorded a career-high three caused turnovers. Addison Glavin (Andover, MA) and Bethany Rose (Andover, MA) split the game in goal for the Chargers and helped the Chargers to their second shutout of the season.
