New London, NH – On Saturday, the Chargers and the Elms Blazers faced off in a GNAC match up in brisk conditions at Sally Shaw Veitch Field. Colby-Sawyer improved to 6-0 on the season, as Lauren Vignola (Ringwood, NJ), Rose Finlayson (Hopkinton, NH), and Grace Joly (Windham, ME) all scored 3+ goals.

The game started with both teams having offensive possessions before Vignola scored three minutes into the game. Elena Bronson (Monkton, VT) assisted the goal from Vignola, which put the Chargers up 1-0. Finlayson scored from a free position shot 15 seconds later to make it a 2-0 lead. Finlayson assisted Joly to make it a 3-0 Charger lead. With 7:55 left in the first quarter, the Chargers scored another goal, which was Vignola's second goal. Moments later, Finlayson assisted Anika Jenkins (Tyngsboro, MA). Jenkins' goal put the Chargers up by five. In the next three minutes, Joly, Reese Holcomb (Essex Junction, VT), and Finlayson (assisted by Bronson) each scored for Colby-Sawyer. Joly, Bronson, and Finlayson each scored before the end of the quarter. The Chargers led 11-0 after the first quarter.

Cecilia Ponzini (Windham, NH) scored a free position shot early in the second quarter. Ponzini scored another goal from a free position shot, about 10 minutes later. With 16 seconds to go in the half, Vignola scored from a free position shot.

Five minutes into the second half, Allison Linscott (Pembroke, MA) scored the first Charger goal of the half. With less than five minutes to go in the third quarter, Vignola and Madeline Knight (Pownal, ME) each scored from a free-position shot.

In the fourth quarter, Sophie Pedro (Scituate, RI) assisted a goal from Jenkins, making it a captain-to-captain goal for the Chargers. With 7:46 left in the game, Bronson assisted Knight's second goal of the game. Just over two minutes later, Rachel Dort scored a free position shot for the Blazers. The Chargers won the game 19-1.
