CHARGERS RETURN HOME TO HOST MOUNT HOLYOKE

New London, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team faces off against the Lyons of Mount Holyoke College on Wednesday at the Hogan Sports Center for the Chargers' last non-conference game of the regular season. 

The Chargers are coming off a close 64-58 defeat against Anna Maria on Saturday, with three Chargers scoring double digits. The Chargers will start GNAC conference play on Saturday. 

The Lyons are coming into Wednesday barely falling to Elms 50-49 on Monday. The Lyons start their NEWMAC conference campaign on January 17th. 

The Chargers:  

  • Elyza Mitchell (Spofford, NH) – The senior forward scored a season-high 20 points on Saturday and is averaging 12 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. Mitchell has scored double digits four times this season. 

  • Tanner Drury (Bethel, VT) – The sophomore guard scored 11 points on Saturday and has scored 10+ points in three of the last four games. 

  • Catherine Chick (Glen, NH) – The junior forward recorded eight rebounds and eight points on Saturday. 

The Lyons: 

  • Alex Twomey – The senior guard is averaging 12.4 points per game. Twomey scored 15 points on Monday.  

  • Sofia Francisco – The junior forward/center recorded 19 rebounds on Monday and is averaging 12.4 rebounds per game. 

  • Taryn White – The senior forward/center is averaging 7.4 points per game and 7.4 rebounds per game. 

The Historical Matchup: 

The two teams faced each other in South Hadley, Massachusetts last season with the Lyons winning the matchup. All-time, each side has one win against each other. 

Looking Ahead: 

The Chargers will face off against Emmanuel to start conference play on Saturday in Boston.
