THREE DIFFERENT CHARGERS SCORE IN FOURTH STRAIGHT GNAC WIN

New London, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team won 3-2 against the Simmons Sharks on Saturday. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Ava Bennett (Hampstead, N.H.) started the scoring for the Chargers five minutes into the game. Brooke Farquhar (Gorham, Maine) assisted Bennett to give the Chargers an early lead. 

  • Jillian Fredette (Weare, N.H.) set up Farquhar to put the Chargers up by 2 in the second quarter. 

  • Nora Desrosiers scored for Simmons in the fourth quarter after being assisted by Katy Paveglio. 

  • Just under 3 minutes later, Reese Holcomb (Essex Junction, VT) made the score 3-1 in the Chargers favor. Farquhar would get her second assist of the game on the goal. 

  • With 3 minutes to go in the game, Paveglio scored off a Penelope Long assist for Simmons. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • With 2 assists in the game, Farquhar is first in career assists in Colby-Sawyer field hockey history. 

  • Holcomb scored her first collegiate goal during the Chargers win on Saturday. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers field hockey team will turn their attention to Wednesday, when they host New England College under the lights of Sally Shaw Veitch Field at 6pm.
