FIELD HOCKEY HOSTS THEIR FIRST UNDER THE LIGHTS GAME

New London, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team played under the lights of Sally Shaw Veitch Field for the first time in program history on Tuesday evening. The Chargers took on the New England College Pilgrims, a match between two teams that were 4-0 in the GNAC going into the game.

Rapid Recap:

· Jillian Fredette (Weare, N.H.) and Abby Olden (Belchertown, Mass.) both got shots off in the first quarter for the Chargers. A high energy first quarter from both sides ended 0-0.

· 5 minutes into the second quarter, Kira Geddes scored for the Pilgrims.

· Brooke Farquhar (Gorham, Maine) and Kylie Walden (Bellingham, Mass.) both took shots in the second quarter as the Chargers looked to start a comeback.

· Moments before the end of the third quarter, Luci Walden (Bellingham, Mass.) got a shot off for Colby-Sawyer.

· Farquhar took another shot at the beginning of the fourth quarter that forced a save from New England College goalie Mackenzie Anderson. Geddes scored the second goal with less than two minutes to go in the game.

Inside the Numbers:

· Goalie Ashlee Blashock (Lebanon, N.H.) ended the game with 7 saves.

· This was the 7th consecutive game where the Chargers have recorded 6 or more shots.

Up Next:

The Chargers return to Sally Shaw Veitch Field on Saturday at noon for a non-conference game against UMaine Farmington.
