STANDISH, MAINE - The Colby-Sawyer men's track and field team headed up to Standish, Maine to compete in the two day GNAC Outdoor Championships hosted by Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
Rapid Recap:
- First year Mason Sayers (Lanesborough, Mass.) would lock in some points for the Chargers as he would get the Bronze medal in the 100m dash finals. He would later go on to run the 200m dash with a time of 24.10.
- Matthew Gaudioso (Branford, Conn.) would continue to have a great season in the throwing events leading the way for the Chargers as he would finish third in the Hammer with a throw of 35.09m. He would score more points for the Chargers in the Discus after a fifth place finish with a throw of 34.95m.
- Brady Rogers (Newfields, N.H.) would continue to show the young strength of the Chargers as he would finish tied second in the High Jump with a jump of 1.80m. He would go on to throw a personal best in the Javelin, almost touching 50m as he would get the bronze medal with a 49.90m throw.
- Jon Platti (North Granby, Conn.) would show out for the Chargers in his last GNAC's where he would finish fifth in the 200m dash, with a time of 23.48. He would also compete in the 400m where he would also finish fifth with a time of 54.03.
- Elijah Thomas (Fairfax, Virginia) would be apart of the young core to score more points for the Chargers as he finished fourth in the High Jump with a jump of 1.80m. He would also compete in the Triple Jump where he would jump his way to a sixth place finish with a mark of 12.06m.
- Marty Steucek (Ashburnham, Mass.) would compete in the 10k/5k double for his last GNAC's and would secure eight points for the Chargers. He would finish with a time of 36.30.48 for fourth place. He would run his way to fourth place in the 5k as well with a time of 17:13.59.
- Parker Hilton (Hudson, N.H.) would have a great day in throws as well as he would throw 27.38m in the Hammer.
- The men's 4x4 consisted of Rogers, Platti, Hayden Goyette (Epsom, N.H.) and Dante De Moor (Ronse, Ooost-Vlaanderen, Belgium) would secure third place and a bronze medal with a time of 3:42.60.
Inside the Numbers:
- Sayers, Gaudioso, Rogers, Platti, Goyette, and De Moor would all get All-Conference awards for their performances during the two day event.
