COLCHESTER, VT. - The Colby-Sawyer women's tennis team picked up a dominant 6-1 win over Division II foe Saint Michael's College Saturday afternoon to open their spring season.

- The Purple Knights claimed the opening point in doubles action, winning the number 1 and 2 positions. Senior Isabella Gutierrez (Tegucigalpa, Honduras) and graduate student Mary Thoms (Northwood, N.H.) won at number 3 doubles 6-0, but the Purple Knights took the early lead after doubles action.
- In singles action, the Chargers dominated as they won all six singles positions. Gutierrez would continue to dominate and picked up a 6-3, 6-3 win at number three. First-year Avery Nielsen (Thornhill, Ontario) picked up a 6-1, 6-0 at number five singles while sophomore Payton Dugan (Vincennes, Ind.) won 6-2, 6-4 at number one.
