CONNOR MACPHAIL NAMED NEXT WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL HEAD COACH

NEW LONDON, N.H. - Connor MacPhail was named head women's volleyball coach at Colby-Sawyer College in early 2025.

He joins the Chargers after two seasons as an assistant coach at Iona University (2023-2024), where he was responsible for player development, recruiting, and game strategy. Before his time at Iona, Connor was an assistant coach at Adelphi University during the 2022 season, leading efforts in film analysis and skill development.

In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Connor has been actively involved in Long Island volleyball, coaching at the club level with Sportime VBC since 2022. His work at the youth, club, and collegiate levels has provided him with a well-rounded approach to athlete development and team success.

As a player, Connor was a four-year member of the New Paltz men's volleyball program and was part of the team's 2019 NCAA Division III National Championship run. Originally from Port Washington, New York, he earned his degree in digital media & management with a minor in communications from SUNY New Paltz in May 2022.

Connor brings a strong coaching background, a passion for player development, and a commitment to fostering a competitive and positive team culture. His coaching philosophy is centered on developing well-rounded student-athletes—not just as players, but as individuals. He is dedicated to helping his athletes refine their skills on the court, balance the demands of athletics and academics, and grow as confident leaders and teammates. He believes in creating an environment where players can excel in competition while also building the character and life skills that will serve them beyond volleyball.
