Chargers Open Season Against Keene State

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team opened up the 2025-26 season against Keene State at home Friday evening. 

Rapid Recap:
  • The Owls opened up to a quick 7-0 lead, before the duo of Lauren MacDonald (Tilton, N.H.) and Tanner Drury (Bethel, VT.) would help the Chargers storm back to knot it at 7. Brynn Rautiola for the Owls would take over from that point, hitting every shot in front of her while giving her team the lead. 
  • The Chargers would put together a strong second quarter with very diverse scoring throughout the lineup, where six different Chargers would score with Emily Leonard (Chester, N.H.) would knock down her first three of the game. 
  • MacDonald would find a way to score six points in the third quarter for the Chargers to put her in double figures. The Owls would add some scoring from Sydney Cassidy, and Ruby Dasaro to extend their lead in the quarter. 
  • Emily Leonard would catch fire in the fourth quarter, adding a spark in the game as she would knock down a pair of threes, while also scoring inside the arc to pick up 12 of the Chargers 18 points in the quarter. Drury would add to her scoring total, while Makenna Grillone (Walpole, N.H.) would add a couple points in the quarter. 
Inside the Numbers:
  • Leonard would pace the Chargers as she would finish with 17 (6-7 FG, 3-4 3PT) points to lead the team in scoring in 22 minutes. Emily would also finish with 6 rebounds on the night to lead the team as well. 
  • Tanner Drury would pick up a new career high in scoring with 16 points, while also adding 5 rebounds to her stat line. 
  • Lauren MacDonald would be the third Charger in double figures as she would score 13 points while adding a steal and a block on the defensive end.
  • Brynn Rautiola would lead the Owls with 30 points on 11-18 shooting. Rautiola would add 7 rebounds. The Owls would also got 12 points out of Sydney Cassidy.

The Chargers will have quite the quick turnaround as they will host Lesley on Sunday, November 7th with a 1pm tip off.
