FIVE CHARGERS SCORE IN LARGEST WIN OF SEASON

New London, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team won their sixth conference match of the season on Wednesday as they faced off against Rivier. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Five minutes into the game Brooke Farquhar (Gorham, Maine) opened the scoring for the Chargers. 

  • In the next two minutes, Jillian Fredette (Weare, N.H.) added two more goals, putting the Chargers up 3-0. 

  • Abby Olden (Belchertown, Mass.) scored the fourth Charger goal a minute before the end of the first quarter. 

  • Olden assisted Cecilia Ponzini (Windham, N.H.), as the Chargers scored their first goal of the second quarter. 

  • The Chargers would go on to score three more goals in the second quarter with the goal scorers being Fredette, Farquhar and Olden. Farquhar assisted the first and Ponzini assisted the second of the three goals. 

  • Farquhar secured the hat-trick scoring off an Olden assist in the third quarter. 

  • Fredette scored her fourth in the game as Olden got her third assist of the game. 

  • Ashley Pelletier (Bridgton, Maine) assisted Zoe Dries (Windham, Maine) in the third quarter, to score the final goal of the game for the Chargers. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • After this game, Farquhar has scored at least three goals in three of the last four games. 

  • Olden's three assists puts her at nine assists on the year. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers stay at home to play Regis on Saturday at Homecoming where they will celebrate Senior Day at 12pm.
