Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

CHARGERS FALL TO LASELL 2-0

NEW LONDON, NH - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team fell to Lasell University Saturday afternoon, 2-0 in a tough conference match-up.

Rapid Recap:
  • The Chargers had a tough time getting passed Lasell's defensive line as Lasell put the pressure on the Chargers recording a majority of possession in the first 10 minutes. Hallee Pletzer (Barre, Vt.) was finally able to break through the defense as she ripped a shot that was saved by the keeper.
  • The Chargers took control of possession after Pletzer's shot to continue putting on the pressure and controlled that possession in the mid field until Lasell took control for a second and was able to find a goal off of it to take a 1-0 lead.
  • The Chargers fought hard as the game continued going back and forth with a majority of possession being held at the midfield by both teams. Neither team could get through each other's defensive ends as both defenses held their lines.
  • The Chargers continued to put pressure on and find leading goal scorer Bridget O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) who was double or triple teamed throughout the whole game but was still finding a way to create shots that just missed over the cross bar multiple times. The Chargers unfortunately could not find the back of the net in this way given the opportunities they had.
