NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team picked up a convincing 5-1 over the Dean Bulldogs Tuesday afternoon in their final regular season game. The Chargers improve their record to 7-2-6 in conference way.

- The Chargers brought the offensive intensity as senior Bridget O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) scored the first goal of the day in the second minute of the game with the assist coming from first-year Kate Vasconcelos (Woodsville, N.H.). The Chargers continued to stay on the attack as graduate student Sam Bishop (Windham, N.H.), senior Halle Pletzer (Barre, Vt.), and junior Lauren Ardolino (Milford, Conn.) all fired shots of their own. O'Connell would score her second goal of the day off of a penalty kick to extend the Chargers lead to 2-0 in the first ten minutes of the game. O'Connell and Ardolino would continue to fire shots on target, but Bulldog goalkeeper Haley Gaunt remained tough in net for the visitors. The Bulldogs went on the attack late in the first half, but junior goalkeeper Gabriela Calidonio (Flager Beach, Fla.) made key saves to keep the home team ahead. O'Connell would complete the hat trick in the 40th minute to extend the Chargers lead to 3-0 heading into the half.Â
- The Chargers continued to stay on the attack in the second half as Pletzer fired back-to-back shots on target, but Gaunt made big saves for the Bulldogs. Junior Lauren McKee (Littleton, N.H.) would keep the Chargers on the attack with a shot of her own, but Gaunt remained strong in net. Pletzer would extend the Chargers lead to 4-0 in the 58th minute with a goal of her own. First-year Eve Van Wickler (Sturbridge, Mass.) kept the Chargers on the attack, but Gaunt continued to make keep saves for the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs continued to fight back in the second half firing shots on target, but first-year goalkeeper Aurora Proulx (Sheldon, Vt.) made key saves for the Chargers. Pletzer would score her second goal just three minutes later to extend the Chargers lead to 5-0. The Bulldogs responded two minutes later with a goal by Nina Medeiros to get the visitors on the board. Senior Hannah Himes (Williston, Vt.) and sophomore Stella Lavertue (Claremont, N.H.) kept the Chargers on the attack late in the second half with shots of their own but were unable to put them in the back of the net. The Chargers would come away with the 5-1 victory over the visiting Bulldogs as the whistle blew in the 90th minute.Â
