Chargers Finish Weekend at Colby College Carnival

CARRABASSETT VALLEY, Maine – The Colby-Sawyer women's alpine skiing team wrapped up their weekend in Maine with three point scoring performances and four finishers on Saturday. 

Rapid Recap Day One (Giant Slalom):
  • No Chargers scored in the first day of the carnival.
Rapid Recap Day Two (Slalom):
  • Sophomore Maren Elvidge (Steamboats, Colo.) led the women's side of the slalom with a 33rd place finish with a time of 1:58.46 earning ten EISA points. 
  • Graduate student Caity Regrut (Telluride, Colo.) trailed close behind earning a 34th place finish with a time of 1:58.49 earning nine EISA points. 
  • Sophomore Molly Dishong (Francestown, N.H.) tabbed a 35th place finish with a time of 2:03.66 earning eight EISA points. 
  • First year Ashley Garside (Silver Lake, N.H.) raced into 36th place with a time of 2:05.28. 

Post Race Press:
"Today's slalom race was challenging for everyone, especially on the second run," said sophomore Maren Elvidge (Steamboats, Colo.). "The team has been training similar sets, they were ready to take on the challenge and succeeded. I'm really proud of myself for fighting to stay in it and putting down a solid run!"

Up Next:
The Chargers will travel to Vermont for the University of Vermont Carnival on January 26th.
