NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team tied in their home opener against Keene State College on Friday.
Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers offense struck first behind a Kara Keiper (Peterborough, N.H.) goal shortly after the first 15 minutes of play. Keiper was able to split the Owl's defensive line with several dribbles and find the lower right side of the net.
- The Chargers back line was able to weather the Owl's attack throughout the first half. But in the 75th minute, Riley Devine was able to find the back of the net to get the Owls back in the game, bringing the score to an even 1-1 with a chip shot.

"We are all definitely nervous to start off our season," first year
Lyndsey Valletta (Macedon, N.Y.) explained. "But we did a great job coming together and creating a great game. Playing today was very intense, and I really think I took each challenge and shot head on. With my teammates support throughout the game, I was able to build up my confidence!"

- Senior Kara Keiper recorded two shots and tallied the lone Charger goal in the contest, while junior Bridget O'Connell (Peabody, Mass) recorded three shots on goal, and senior Sam Bishop (Windham, N.H.) recorded two shots with one on net.
- First year keeper Lyndsey Valletta (Macedon, N.Y.) played the full 90 minutes for the Chargers, recording five saves, while surrendering the lone and one goal. against.
