JEFFERSONVILLE, Vt. – The Colby-Sawyer men's alpine skiing team competed in the Saint Michael's Carnival on Saturday at Smuggler's Notch Resort. The Chargers were able to hit the slopes for the slalom races after day one was canceled due to freezing temperatures.
Rapid Recap:
- Junior Chesley Smith (Stowe, Vt.) earned a 47th place finish for the Chargers with a time of 1:25.74 (43.36, 42.38) after being ranked 72nd coming into the race.
- Following closely behind Smith was senior Finn Husband (Elks Rapid, Mich.) who secured a 50th place finish. Husband came into the day ranked 77th and was able to jump 27 spots with his 1:46.17 (42.32, 1:03.85) effort.

Skier Spotlight:
"The hill today definitely required aggressive skiing," said junior
Chesley Smith (Stowe, Vt.). "Everyone was getting after it and looking for speed all day long. For myself, after a decent first run I felt like I was able to press the gas and be aggressive on second run. I think we are all excited to keep building into the second half of the season."

The Chargers will head to Waterville Valley Resort for their next carnival hosted by Harvard University with giant slalom on Friday, February 10
th and slalom on Saturday, February 11th each scheduled to start at 9:00 AM.
