NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team fell in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match against Lasell University on Saturday afternoon. The Lasers remain undefeated in conference play improving to a 4-0 record.
Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers backline were able to weather the Laser's attack in the first half. In the 38th minute, Byrnn Foster was able to find the back of the net to give the Lasers the 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
- Early in the second half, the Lasers capitalized on a corner kick where Serena Speight laced the ball into the upper net to extend the Lasers led 2-0.
- Shortly after in the 59th minute, Bobbi O'Guin cut the ball onto her right foot and curled the ball past senior goalkeeper Alexis LeBreton (Bangor, Maine) to put the Lasers up 3-0. The Chargers continued to push on the offensive with senior Abby Hamelin (Chesterfield, N.H.), sophomore Bridget O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.), and junior Kara Keiper (Peterborough, N.H.) each taking shots on net.
Stats & Figures:
- Junior Sam Bishop (Windham, N.H.) and O'Connell both recorded two shots with sophomore Hannah Himes (Newmarket, N.H.) and Keiper each taking a shot.
- LeBreton made two saves and allowed three goals after playing ninety minutes in net.
- The Lasers outshot the Chargers 13-8 with a 5-2 margin in shots on target.
