Chargers End Florida Trip Splitting with Wisconsin - Superior

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Chargers closed out the Florida trip splitting with the University of Wisconsin - Superior with the women's team scoring a 5-4 win and the men's team losing 5-4.

Rapid Recap: 
  • The Chargers men's team scored a third doubles win as senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and senior Charlie Graffius (Portland, Maine) defeated the hornets 8-3. On the women's side the first and third pairing both scored wins. The first pairing with first year Grace Carpenter (Milford, N.H.) and junior Emily Hill (Wilmington, Mass.) enjoyed a 8-4 win, while third group with senior Amira Eid (Pelham, N.H.) and first year Mei Genest (Keene, N.H.) scored a 8-4 win.
  • On the singles side for the men the number one, number two and number six singles all scored victories over the Hornets. First year Jan Ullmann (Schriesheim, Baden-Wuerrttemberg, Germany) and first year Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) each won their matches in extra sets, while Lowman won number one singles by default. 
  • On the women's side number two, four and six singles all scored big victories to carry the Chargers to the win. Hill picked up a big win by a 6-0, 6-2 final. First year Lily Tria (Westerly, R.I.) won the fourth singles in extras with a 4-6, 6-0, 10-3 win, while graduate student Margaret Fox (New Orleans, La.) won sixth singles by default.
