ORLANDO, Fla. - On Wednesday the Chargers tennis teams fell to Dickinson College, with some matches canceled due to inclement weather. The second match scheduled with Stevenson University was postponed to Thursday.
Rapid Recap:
- The first men's doubles pairing of senior Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and first year Aidan Jensen (Essex, Vt.) picked up the first point of the day defeating the Red Devils 8-7 winning the tie-breaker 9-7. The other two doubles fell to the Red Devils now leading the Chargers 2-1 heading into the singles.
- Lowman continued to shine scoring a 6-3, 6-3 victory in the number one singles slot. All other single matchups lost with Jensen falling in a third set by a 10-4 margin. The Red Devils would close out the contest winning 7-2.
- On the women's side all three doubles pairings fell with number three doubles featuring senior Amira Eid (Pelham, N.H.) and first year Mei Genest (Keene, N.H.) scoring the closest defeat with a 8-7 loss with the tie-breaker going 7-5 in favor of the Red Devils.
- During the singles round three matches went unfinished as graduate student Margaret Fox (New Orleans, La.) and junior Emily Hill (Wilmington, Mass.) both leading before the rain. The other singles matches went in favor of Dickinson giving them a 6-0 win.
