BRUNSWICK, Maine - The Chargers women's cross-country team competed at the 2022 NCAA Division III East Regionals hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday. Colby-Sawyer finished in 14
th place out of 35 teams with a score of 449.
Rapid Recap:
- Sophomore Samantha Carus (Brownfield, Maine), who had an impressive performance during last year's NCAA regionals, was the top runner for the Chargers after racing her way to 46th place with a time of 23:47.5.
- Senior Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.) followed closely behind Carus finishing in 49th place with a time of 23:52.5.
- Sophomore Tessa Millette (Barrington, N.H.) and first year Adriana Nadeau (Londonderry, N.H.) had strong races after Millette clocked in at 25:28.7 and Nadeau at 25:36.3.
- Sophomore Heather Hanson (Marstons Mills, Mass.) completed the 6K with a time of 27:38.8. Rounding out for the Chargers was first year Julia Huckins (New Hampton, N.H.) finishing in 32:06.3 and first year Molly Macklin (Hudson, N.H.) finishing with a time of 32:52.6.
Runners Spotlight:
"We went into this meet knowing the weather was going to be difficult," said Millette. "We braced ourselves to run in the rain and just have fun."
"It was a good race," said Nadeau. "I think I ran one of my best races, and it was a good course overall. I'm looking forward to the indoor track season and I think Coach O'Connell has prepared us well."

"Very proud of how the team competed today," said head coach
Ryan O'Connell. "It's a big meet and everyone went out there and left all they had on the course. You can't ask for more than that. I love this group and it has been a really fun season. Super proud of our two seniors who ran in their last XC races today. Shannon and Brendan have been pillars of this program and I can't thank them enough for what they have done for this team."
