NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Colby-Sawyer women's cross country team raced at the Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday placing in 8th out of 14 teams with 212 points.
Rapid Recap:
- Leading the way for the Chargers was once again senior Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.). O'Connell crossed the line at 23:39.2 during this 6k race finishing in 6th place out of 114 runners.
- Sophomore Samantha Carus (Brownfield, Maine) followed closely behind 12th place at 24:20.5. Next for Colby-Sawyer was first year Adriana Nadeau (Londonderry, N.H.) who had her best race of her collegiate career with a time of 25:17.7.
- Rounding out the top five was first year Julia Huckins (New Hampton, N.H.) and first year Molly Macklin (Hudson, N.H.) finishing in 102nd and 104th respectfully.
Runner Spotlight:
"Our team had a good race at Conn. College today", said senior
Shannon O'Connell (Peabody, Mass.). "We were missing Tessa and Heather, but everyone was putting out their best efforts. It was the biggest meet in the country this weekend so it was really fun to see so many people talented people racing."
"I am very happy with how the race went today", said first year
Adriana Nadeau (Londonderry, N.H.). "Most of the first years achieved a new personal record with myself included. I think we all did really well in the race, and have all been doing great so far this season. I am ready and excited for the GNAC Championships."

The Chargers will compete in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship on October 29th in Standish, Maine at Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
