NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer College baseball team won both games of its senior day doubleheader against Rivier University. The Chargers won in dominate fashion in game one, 6-1 and continued the hot hitting into game two winning 9-7. With the two wins today, the Chargers end the season with a .500 record.

How It Happened (Game One)
- Senior Noah Yeingst (Middleboro, Mass.) toed the rubber for the Chargers in his last appearance at Kelsey Field. Yeingst put the Raiders down 1-2-3 in the first. In the second Colby-Sawyer started the inning off with two straight doubles from senior classmates Alec Burns (Enosburg Falls, Vt.) and Danny McCrystal (Londonderry, N.H.). Later on in the inning Burns scored on a passed ball, after getting to third on a fielder's choice off the bat of senior Ryan Cummiskey (Billerica, Mass.). Junior Jackson Parmentier (Higganum, Conn.) singled home McCrystal to make the game 2-0. The Chargers weren't done yet, freshman Zach Rogers (Mashpee, Mass.) doubled to put a runner on second and third. Junior Jonathan Martinez (Stony Point, N.Y.) grounded out to second, but scored Parmentier from third, making the lead 3-0. Freshman Mike Allard (Sanbornton, N.H.) singled home another run later in the inning making the score 4-0 heading into the top of the third.
- In the third, Yeingst got out of a jam by getting a batter to strikeout and then groundout of short. In the bottom half of the inning, Burns and McCrystal both single again, putting two runners on, but this time the Chargers did not get either to cross home plate. In the fourth, Colby-Sawyer had runners in scoring position once again, this time with the bases loaded. McCrystal drew a walk which saw one runner cross home plate. Sophomore Tommy Sasso (Grafton, Mass.) who was hit by a pitch earlier in the frame came home on a passed ball by the catcher to make the score 6-0.
- In the fifth, Rivier got their only run of the game after freshman Kevin Collins drew a walk. Sophomore Patrick Quinn was the next batter up and he found a gap that scored Collins from first, which made the score 6-1.
How It Happened (Game Two)
- In game two of the senior day twin bill junior Kaelen Close (Greenfield, Mass.) got the start for the Chargers. He made quick work of the Raiders in the first, putting them down in order. Sophomore Ian Turpel (Cohasset, Mass.) singled for the first Colby-Sawyer hit of game two. Junior Jake Choiniere (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) also singled in the next at bat, putting runners on first and third. Senior Jesse Galanti (Foxborough, Mass.) walked, loading up the bases. Parmentier doubled home two runs, giving the Chargers an early 2-0 lead. Sophomore Michael Roy (Fairfax, Vt.) singled home two more runs in the next at bat that gave Colby-Sawyer a commanding 4-0 lead in the first. The Raiders came storming back in the second getting two runs on a double by Collins. A quite bottom of the second for the Chargers led to a two-run top of the third for the Raiders, highlighted by an Alex Currie single that made the score 4-4.
- Allard singled to start off the bottom of the third frame for Colby-Sawyer. He got all the way to third after a stolen base and passed ball. He then took home and gave the Chargers the lead after a throw down to second. In the top of fourth Quinn singled in two runs giving the Raiders the lead back 6-5. In the bottom half of the fourth Sasso reached on a walk to lead off the inning. A few batters later Choiniere also reached on a walk. Allard reached on an error by the Rivier right fielder that scored two runs for the Chargers, making the lead 7-6.
- Sophomore Kyle Evans (Nashua, N.H.) pitched a scoreless top of the fifth. McCrystal opened up the bottom half of inning number five with a double. Turpel then doubled him home to add to the Charger lead. Choiniere then singled and stole second to put runners on second and third. Turpel scored on a throwing error by the catcher to make the score 9-6. In the bottom of the seventh, Rogers came into pitch for the Chargers, let up one run, but got the save.
