NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Colby-Sawyer College women's tennis defeated the Falcons with its sixth consecutive 9-0 shutout victory. With the victory the Chargers have clinched their first ever Great Northeastern Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season crown and the number one seed in the conference tournament

Rapid Recap:

• In doubles play, freshman Grace Carpenter (Milford, N.H.) and first year Elise Hogan (Duxbury, Mass.) recorded a doubles victory, serving up the day with an 6-2 win. Senior Amira Eid (Pelham, N.H.) and freshman Amelia Campanella (Chepachet, R.I.) notched a 8-1 victory as the #2 doubles pair. First year Lily Tria (Westerly, RI.) and first year Sarah Smith (Rindge, N.H.) closed out doubles play, picking up a 8-0 win.
• The Chargers cleaned the singles scoresheet with wins from first year Olivia Corrigan (Littleton, N.H), first year Mei Genest (Keene, N.H.), Carpenter, Hogan, Eid, and Campanella.
• The Chargers have now clinched the GNAC regular season crown for the first time in program history and have earned the #1 seed as well as a first round bye in the conference tournament.
