Chargers Secure Tournament Bye with 9-0 Win

Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer College women's tennis posted another shutout win against the Regis College Pride in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) tilt Wednesday, finishing 9-0) The Chargers record moves to 7-1 overall, 5-0 in the GNAC.

  • In doubles play, freshman Grace Carpenter (Milford, N.H.) and junior Emily Hill (Wilmington, Mass.) recorded another dynamic duo win, serving up the day with an 8-1 win.  Sophomore Lindsay Macdonald (South Yarmouth, Mass.) and freshman Elise Hogan (Duxbury, Mass.) also took another win with an 8-0 sweep at No. 2 doubles.  Senior Amira Eid (Pelham, N.H.) and freshman Amelia Campanella (Chepachet, R.I.) closed out doubles play, picking up a win by default.
  • The Chargers cleaned the singles scoresheet with wins from MacDonald, Hill, Carpenter, Hogan, Eid, and Campanella.
  • The Chargers have clinched a first round bye for the conference tournament thanks to their 5-0 GNAC record.

The Chargers travel to New Haven, CT, this Saturday, October 9th, to take on the Albertus Magnus Falcons for an opportunity to secure home court throughout the upcoming conference playoffs.
