NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer Chargers will host their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament home game since October 28
th, 2018, on Saturday when they take on the Anna Maria College AMCATS at 2 PM.

GAME HEADLINES
The 2021-22 season has been history-making for the Colby-Sawyer field hockey team as it is the first time in program history the Chargers will hold the number one seed in a conference tournament.
For Anna Maria this marks the seventh straight season qualifying for the GNAC playoffs, however the AMCATS have failed to get past the first round in their past five attempts.
COLBY-SAWYER STORYLINES
- The Chargers finished the regular season with an impressive 14-3 overall record, including a 6-1 record at Sally Shaw Veitch Field. Colby-Sawyer has won four-straight heading into the GNAC Tournament and has a five game GNAC winning-streak.
- The Chargers' defense has been dominate this year, only allowing 1.67 goals per game with 107 total saves and nine team defensive saves. The backline has played their best of late, allowing just two goals over the past four contests.
- The offense is led by a four-headed attack featuring junior Aoife Daly (Harwich, Mass.) (17 goals, 3 assists), first year Courtney Larson (Auburn, Maine) (11 goals, 1 assist), graduate student Julia Lanctot (Sandown, N.H.) (9 goals, 6 assists) and junior Bella Silva (Danvers, Mass.) (6 goals, 3 assists).
- Daly's 17 goals broke the Colby-Sawyer single-season goals record. On Oct. 17 in a 5-0 win over Regis (Mass.).
- In the cage junior Lauren Wilkinson (Lynn, Mass.) continues to shine, surrendering a stingy 1.81 goals a game. She leads the GNAC in save percentage at .797%.
- This will be the first postseason game for head coach Emily Dewdney at Colby-Sawyer. Dewdney heads into the contest with a 22-12 overall record and a 14-5 record in the GNAC, taking over the head coaching role in the fall of 2019 after eight seasons as the program's top assistant.
ANNA MARIA STORYLINES
- The AMCATS ended the regular season with a 3-8 record in GNAC play, earning the tournament's No. 8 seed via tie-break over Regis College and the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).
- Anna Maria's offense was led by their passing attack, notching 32 helpers, fourth-best in the GNAC. Senior Chayna Bingham-Hendricks (10 assist, 5 goals) and graduate student Allyson Shaw (9 assists, 7 goals) led the way for Anna Maria. The duos assist total was more than three teams in the league had total assists on the season.
- The AMCATS rank sixth in goals allowed per game, giving up 2.01 per contest.
- Starting keeper junior Hannah Tobey has 77 saves on the season, and boasts a .713 save percentage.
- The AMCATS have struggled of late, having won just two of their last eight contests. Four of those losses have been shutouts.
- Head coach Brooke Brigham, a four-year member of the AMCAT field hockey team as a student-athlete, is in her sixth year as the program's head coach.
ALL-TIME vs. ANNA MARIA COLLEGE
- The Chargers own a 7-4 advantage in the all-time series against the AMCATS, and have won the last six match-ups.
- Colby-Sawyer is 1-0 vs Anna Maria in the GNAC Tournament after defeating the AMCATS by a 4-1 final on Oct. 28, 2018.
- This season the Chargers outlasted Anna Maria 1-0 Oct. 22. Larson notched the only score of the contest while Wilkinson had the seven save shutout.
