CHICOPEE, Mass. - September 7, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team was outlasted by Elms College in double overtime, 2-1, on Saturday afternoon.
The Blazers improve to 2-2, while Colby-Sawyer drops to 2-2. The Chargers return home on Wednesday to host Plymouth State at 4:30 p.m.
After a scoreless first half, Colby-Sawyer first-year
Sydney Jimmo (Shelburne, Vt.) scored her team leading fourth goal of the season in the 70th minute to put the Chargers on top 1-0.
Elms knotted the match less than two minutes later when Sydney Goodwin found the back of the net off a pass from Haley Richard.
Neither team could end the match in the first overtime, but Elaina Vilar struck for the game-winner with less than four minutes to play to send Elms home with the 2-1 double overtime victory.
The match was evenly played throughout and each team finished with 11 shots.

Sam Mitchell (Chester, N.H.) made seven saves, while Elms goalie Rebecca Molin also registered seven stops.
