NEW LONDON, N.H. – September 11, 2019 – The Colby-Sawyer College women's soccer team fell to Plymouth State, 2-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
Plymouth State improves to 2-2 and will host Roger Williams on Saturday at 1 p.m. Colby-Sawyer dips to 2-3 and will begin Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday at Regis at noon.
Both goals for the Panthers came early in the first half. Less than five minutes into the contest, sophomore Jordan Meier (Holderness, N.H.) put home her team best third goal of the season off a pass from sophomore Sarah Hicks (Sutton, Mass.).
In the 12th minute, Hicks set up another teammate to put Plymouth State in front 2-0. Junior Mallory Lloyd (Hartland, Vt.) was the beneficiary of a Hicks pass this time to record her first tally of the season.
Panthers goalie Jenna Parsons (Windham, N.H.) had a pair of stops to earn the win, while Colby-Sawyer senior goalie
Sam Mitchell (Chester, N.H.) made nine saves in the loss.
