Field Hockey Suffers GNAC Loss at Johnson & Wales

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - September 28, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team dropped Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) game at Johnson & Wales, 4-1. 

JWU improves to 2-8 overall and 1-1 in the GNAC. Colby-Sawyer dips to 4-5 overall and 2-1 in conference action. The Chargers will step out of conference play to travel to Becker on Wednesday. 

Colby-Sawyer took a 1-0 lead with 1:05 left to play in the first quarter on Sarah Morin's third goal of the season. She has two goals in her last three games. 

In the second quarter, the Wildcats struck for a pair of goals on three shots. Alaina Nardslico notched both goals 1:26 apart from each other.

The Wildcats added insurance goals in the third and fourth quarters to secure the 4-1 win. McKayla Weaver finished a feed from Nardslico in the third, while Jillian Miele converted a pass from Rachel DeVore in the fourth.  

Madison Flaxington collected 10 saves in the win for the Wildcats. Abby Ladd made three stops for Colby-Sawyer. 

Colby-Sawyer outshot JWU 16-10 and had a 4-1 edge in penalty corners.
