NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 3, 2019 – The Colby-Sawyer College women's lacrosse team had its 6-game win streak snapped on Wednesday by Castleton, 16-10, in very windy conditions at the Sally Shaw Veitch Turf Field.

The Chargers return to Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday with a 12 p.m. start against Albertus Magnus.

The home team got on the board first when Ireland found the back of the net 3:25 into the contest. Castleton then began clicking and scored six-straight goals, in a span of 15 minutes, to take a 6-1 advantage.

The Chargers regrouped and battled back to cut the deficit to 6-4 at the half after a goal from Couture and two by Ireland, including one with 1.6 seconds left on the clock.

The second half began just like the first, as Colby-Sawyer opened the scoring to pull within one. Castleton stopped the four-goal run by the Chargers with three tallies to go in front 9-5.

Colby-Sawyer scored three of the next four goals, including a pair by Dinger, to pull within a couple at 10-8.
