QUINCY, Mass. - April 27, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team fell to top seed Eastern Nazarene, 5-0, in Saturday's Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) semifinals.
Colby-Sawyer ends its season at 8-10. Eastern Nazarene improves to 15-7 and will host the GNAC Championship against Ramapo next weekend.
At the No. 1 doubles slot, Henry Siercke (Hamburg, Germany) and Julius Opaschowski (Hamburg, Germany) came away with an 8-0 triumph over
Julius Lowman (Bavaria, Germany) and
Alex Wright (Cornwall, England).
Diego Rodriguez (Barquisimeto, Venezuela) and Tim Schoengens (Inden, Germany) earned an 8-4 win over
Erik Antonacci (Bolton, Vt.) and
Matt Burke (Milford, Conn.) at the No. 2 position.
Shaw Campbell (Redding, Calif.) and Kyle Pierson (Redding, Calif.) downed
Mike White (Woburn, Mass.) and
Matt Williamson (Brookline, N.H.) at the third doubles slot by an 8-4 score.
Needing two points to clinch the match, Eastern Nazarene picked up singles wins at No. 2 and No. 5.
