NORTON, Mass. - March 24, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's tennis team fell at Wheaton, 8-1, on Sunday afternoon.
Wheaton improves to 5-4, while the Charges have their three-match win streak snapped to fall to 5-5. The Chargers will travel to GNAC preseason favorite Eastern Nazarene on Saturday.
The Lyons took a 3-0 lead after sweeping doubles and then won five of six singles matches.
The Chargers' lone point came at the fifth flight behind strong play from
Julius Lowman. He defeated Ned Roosevelt in straight-sets 6-4, 6-4.
Alex Wright and Ian Tracy were locked in a tight match throughout at the top singles flight. Wright won the first 7-5, but Tracy rebounded with a 6-3 win in the second. The two then battled in a third set tie break with Tracy edging Wright 11-9.
