NEW LONDON, N.H. – October 5, 2019 – First-year
Madison Quick (Windsor, N.Y.) scored three times to lead the Colby-Sawyer field hockey team to a 6-0 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory over Albertus Magnus on Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in the GNAC. The Chargers host Thomas on Wednesday, Oct. 16, for a makeup game that was originally scheduled for August 31. Albertus Magnus drops to 1-8 overall and 0-4 in the conference. The Falcons host Anna Maria next Saturday at 2:30 p.m.
The Chargers got the scoring started in the 11th minute on a goal from junior
Julia Lanctot (Sandown, N.H.). The opportunity was set up by junior
Sarah Morin (Pelham, N.H.).
Late in the second quarter, first-year
Calie Sorenson (Sandwich, Mass.) notched her first collegiate goal off a pass from sophomore
Whitney O'Brien (Mont Vernon, N.H.).
O'Brien then scored with less than a minute to play in the first half. Her first collegiate goal was assisted by first-year
Caroline Koziol (Waterford, N.Y.).
The third quarter belonged to Quick as she scored all three of her goals in the frame in a span of just over two minutes. The goals were assisted by junior
Marissa Nance (Sanford, Maine), sophomore
Laura Guthrie (Keene, N.H.) and sophomore
Caroline Tompkins (Marblehead, Mass.).

Lauren Wilkinson (Lynn, Mass.) earned the win and did not face a shot. Albertus Magnus goalie Mikayla Lyston (Medford, N.Y.) had seven saves.
