Men's Cross Country

Men Picked 1st, Women 2nd in GNAC Pre-Championship Poll

NEW LONDON, N.H. - October 31, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship this weekend in Standish, Maine. 

The championship will be held at Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday. The women's 6K race will begin at 1 p.m., followed by the men's 8K race at 2 p.m. Full GNAC release > HERE

In a vote of the league's coaches for a pre-championship poll, the Colby-Sawyer men's team was selected to win the title. The Chargers earned 92 points and six first-place votes to be picked ahead of Norwich (88 points, 2 1st place votes) and Suffolk (84 points, 1 first place vote). Emmanuel got the remaining first-place vote and was picked fifth. 

On the women's side, Colby-Sawyer was picked to finish as the runner-up. The Chargers garnered 105 points, nine points behind conference favorite Suffolk with 114 points. The Rams collected five first-place votes, while Colby-Sawyer earned four. Emmanuel received the final two first-place votes to be selected third with 92 points.
