FRANCONIA, N.H. – January 18, 2019 – The Colby-Sawyer men's alpine ski team resumed Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) racing on Friday at the University of New Hampshire carnival held at Mittersill on Cannon Mountain.
Today's alpine racers dealt with mild winds and temps below freezing as they traversed the giant slalom set up on Baron's Run. The day began with 85 racers and 28 did not complete two runs. The Chargers finished in 13th place with 17 points.
INDIVIDUAL RESULTS
TEAM SCORES
Junior
Cody Wilson (Canyondam, Calif.) led Colby-Sawyer in 38th place with a total time of 2:17.60. He covered the course in 1:06.68 and 1:10.92.
First-year
Giovanni Lazzari (Mont Vernon, N.H.) posted his first EISA result and finished in 43rd. He had runs of 1:07.24 and 1:11.16 for a combined mark of 2:18.40.
Sophomore
Luke Rodarte (Truckee, Calif.) had the Chargers' best first-run time at 1:06.20, but did not finish the second run.
First-year
Nikos Tziovas (Thessaloniki, Greece) also did not finish the second run. He clocked in at 1:07.71 in the first run.
First-year
Benjamin Taber (Sodus, N.Y.) and sophomore
Max Wingard (Truckee, Calif.) did not finish the first run.
