NEW HAVEN, Conn. -September 29, 2018 - Five different players scored as the Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team defeated Albertus Magnus, 5-0, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match on Saturday.
The Chargers improve to 4-4 overall and 4-2 in the GNAC. Colby-Sawyer travels to Johnson & Wales on Wednesday. Albertus Magnus drops to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in conference action.
Molly MacLure and
Hannah Fields each scored for the Chargers in the first half.
Colby-Sawyer added three more goals in the second half to secure the victory.
Abbie Sansoucy scored in the 58th minute.
Natalie Ellard and
Izzy Diaz added goals in the final 10 minutes of action. The goal for Diaz was her first collegiate tally.
Oona Bond made seven saves to earn the victory. Lexie Fenn turned away eight shots for Albertus Magnus.
Colby Sawyer outshot Albertus, 21-9, while the Falcons held an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
