KEENE, N.H. - September 12, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer field hockey team fell to a tough Keene State squad, 6-1, on Wednesday evening.
Colby-Sawyer drops to 3-2 and will resume Great Northeast Athletic Conference action on Saturday at home against Johnson & Wales. Keene, the reigning Little East Conference champion, improves to 4-0.
The Owls scored three times in each half en route to the victory. Kayla Klein, Erica Stauffer and Julia Babbitt had a goal each.
Klein added her second goal of the contest, less than four minutes into the second half to give Keene a 4-0 lead.
Colby-Sawyer broke though in the 58th minute when
Bella Robinson finished a feed from
Jordan Teixeira.
Klein achieved the hat trick with less than two minutes remaining and Stauffer tacked on the Owls' sixth goal in the final seconds to take the win 6-1.
Abby Ladd finished with 13 saves for Colby-Sawyer.
