MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - December 1, 2018 - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team fell to Middlebury College, 75-30, on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers, coached by Colby-Sawyer Hall of Famer KJ Krasco '05, improve to 6-0 on the season. The Chargers fall to 2-3 and will look to rebound on Monday at Pine Manor.
Middlebury was paced by Catherine Harrison's 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting. Maya Davis went 5-of-6 to finish with 13 points.
Colby-Sawyer was led by
Lexie Hamilton's eight points, while
Kristen Donaghey contributed seven points. Hamilton, Donaghey and
Joslin Wainwright each grabbed seven rebounds.
The Chargers led midway through the first quarter, 5-4, after a Hamilton trey, but the home team found the offensive rhythm and wound up finishing the first quarter with a score of 22-10.
Colby-Sawyer hung with the Panthers in the second quarter, holding them to 25% shooting. Middlebury won the frame 12-11 and took a 34-21 lead into the break.
The Panthers held Colby-Sawyer to three field goals in the second half to secure the victory.
